Everyone Ages! How To Ease The Process?: 5 Steps

By        Expert Author Richard Brody

Although, everyone ages (and, doing so, certainly beats the alternative), it often, seems, some do so, more successfully, and comfortably, than others! Some decide to lie, about their age, while others, proudly, admit to it, and appear, feeling positive, and looking forward, to the future, with excitement, etc. What we proclaim, and how we feel, may, or may not, be related, and/ or, even relevant! Rather, usually, it's how one proceeds, and what he makes, of his life, which determines, whether, he ages, gracefully, and, in a happy, healthy manner, or, in a less than fulfilling way! With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, 5 steps, to, try to, ease the aging process.
1. Get a physical: The more you know, and the better, one prepares, the better the chance, to avoid some of the avoidable health issues! Invariably, when ailments and health issues, are identified, and treated, in a timely manner (instead of delaying and procrastinating), the better the longer - term, possibilities! Getting a physical/ check - up, from a trusted health professional, on a regular basis (once - per - year), provides a great, initial basis, and preventative approach!
2. Check - up, from the neck - up/ attitude: A wise person commits to giving himself, a check - up, from the neck - up! When one proceeds, with a realistic, positive, can - do, attitude, and identifies, his personal strengths, and weaknesses, using those areas of strength, and addressing any weaker area, he becomes better prepared for living life, to its fullest! As Henry Ford, is credited with saying, You can think you can, or think, you can't. Either way, you'll be correct. Looking for viable solutions, and considering, obstacles, to be challenges, instead of problems, often, is an essential component of being happier, less stressed, and healthier!
3. Know your pain tolerance: Different people have differing tolerances to pain, and, what some, might consider, overwhelming, others may feel, isn't as significant and meaningful! Know yourself, and let pains, guide your actions, etc!
4. Risk/ reward: Healing ailments, and what treatments, make sense, should depend, largely, to the risk/ reward scale! If the ailment is a life - threatening, and/ or, severely debilitating one, more invasive treatments, may, make more sense, than, for everyday, aches and pains, etc. Don't make things, potentially worse, by using measures, which may make minor issues, worse!
5. The Wellness Approach: Most of the rest of the world uses a Wellness Approach, to medicine, healing, and health. While, Americans, use allopathy, as the first measure of treatment, others rely on less chemical approaches, including homeopathy, and other components of Wellness medicine!
Ease the aging process, by doing, all you can, to live a happier, healthier, more - prepared life! You'll be glad you did!

Where Anger Originates

By       Expert Author Norma Holt

Deep within our psyche we have triggers that shut down logic and common sense and take over our brains with rage. We have all felt it and sometimes it starts with fear or jealousy. If it is allowed to intensify, it becomes anger that may lead to the death of others, suicide or both. With many cases of this scenario in recent times it is important to understand how and why this happens.
The bottom line in many of these cases is revenge. The emotion triggering that is a sense of loss and feelings of hate towards and punishment for a perpetrator.
In the last month or so in Australia we have seen a grandfather shoot dead his entire family before killing himself. Seven people in all that included his wife, daughter, and four grandchildren. While that has shocked the nation it is now followed by a father who killed his two teenage children before turning the gun on himself.
Both these cases followed custody battles in court in which the two men lost out. Their anger, however, followed months of planning. In the case of the father he joined a shooting club to gain a license to buy guns. That took place weeks or even months beforehand.
In the case of the grandfather there were other signs as he became more violent as the end approached. The court outcome may have had little to do with his final act but there is evidence of jealousy or fear planning out.
The recent shooting of victims in the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, USA, is another case in point. It involved the death of five people but the shooter survived and is in custody. He had a grudge against the business after failing in court to get compensation.
There are many killings that are not related to court outcomes, such as when a partner is murdered by their ex or current lover. The reasons are not always clear but many are motivated by jealousy and or fear, especially if there is a break-down in the relationship.
The question is how does one avoid reaching the point of either committing murder or being a victim of a killer? Every case is different and every outcome is equally unpredictable. Women, however, are more vulnerable because they are the weaker of the two. The answer must, therefore, lie in the signs exhibited.
It is likely that one who is planning such an outcome has mood swings and other things that point to a change in his or her thinking. While it is not possible to give positive answers the best approach is to encourage one to think things through and not act because of the force within that blocks out common sense and logic.
Commissioned by God Norma Holt works to spread the knowledge given to her by the Spirit. It differs to religious teachings because she has memory of reincarnation and knows that heaven and hell are myths. Her experience in the Spirit is here. The evidence given to her to remove the wall of blindness is here. Everything she writes is verifiable in the bible and through research.

Looking For A Miracle And Ignoring The Magic

By      Expert Author Vance Larson

I have a client that I have been working with on and off over the course of the years. Without going deeply into her story, one issue that has resurfaced over and over again is anxiety. While she has responded quite well to medication, she continues to seek out additional ways to stay on top of it.
After my morning run today, I received an email from her. It was this elaborate exercise to help combat anxiety. I am all for whatever get you results {provided it is healthy and the science is good}, but I had to ask her why is she looking for a miracle and ignoring the magic. The magic I am referring to is breathing. I was a crisis counselor for 2 decades. In almost every situation that I responded to, getting the client to control their breathing, changed the trajectory of the moment.
When we breathe deep, things become clearer. It is simple biology. The art and science of meditation and deep breathing have long been studied and proven to be effective for many things. The short list to the benefits of deep breathing are-
Calms anxiety
It is a natural pain-killer
Relieves stress
Promotes mental clarity
Improves blood flow
Increases energy
And the list goes on. What is important to know about deep breathing is that anyone can do it. You do not need formal training. Simply breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. Do this several times a day. As it is said that habits form in about 21 days, try adding this simple technique to your daily regiment, and watch what happens.
I have been meditating for over 30 years. It was introduced to me while I was taking karate as a young child. In many ways, the person that I have become today is due to my meditation practice. The art of slowing down has opened me up to greater patience, which has led me to feeling in control. I cannot think of a single circumstance in my life that didn't workout for the best before I meditated on it. Not one. On the other hand, many mistakes have been made when I did not practice the pause. There is power in the pause. And that power comes from controlled breathing.
There is a reason why doctors say take a deep breath before you get a shot. There is a reason why snipers use controlled breathing before firing their weapon. It is called the respiratory pause. The pause is when the sniper is most relaxed, thus increases their chances of being on target. There is a reason why people count to 10 when they are mad. It's all about inducing the relaxation response. And the more in tuned with breath we are, the more likely we will be relaxed and feel in control.
We tend to complicate things. There doesn't always need to be some grand experience or exercise that will bring this result. There are times when dealing with anxiety that medication will make sense. That is a conversation that you should have with your doctor. And yet there will be times where we simply over think things. And the more we think, the grander we feel the remedy. It is in these times that I remind my clients to stop looking for the miracle, and stop ignoring the magic.

Healthy Living - Are You Obsessed With Your Health?

By      Expert Author Beverleigh H Piepers

When it comes to health, most of us are merely trying to do the very best we can. We take note of how we are currently feeling and are striving to one-up how we feel as time goes on. We exercise, make changes to our diet plan, and look after our sleep needs. So, one should think we are on track to optimal success.
However, could you be too concerned about your health? For some people, this is a genuine concern: call it health OCD if you want, or call it anxiety. If you spend too much time looking at and researching your state of health and how you should feel, you may have a problem on your hands as incidents of acute stress affects your body and in a measurable way...
1. How To Spot Trouble. First, let us talk about how to spot trouble when it may be starting. The thing about being overly health conscious is usually you do not even realize you have a problem until it is too late and you have a full-blown anxiety disorder.
Some of the signs you may be becoming obsessed with your health include...
  • you are always feeling stressed about your health and wondering why you are not feeling better.
  • you visit the doctor complaining of symptoms that fail to exist.
  • people around you often tell you not to worry so much.
  • when the doctor advises you there is no health issue, it does not ease your anxiety.
  • when you hear of a disorder in someone else, you begin researching it and may eventually come to believe you have it as well.
  • you have trouble resting easy after tests have been taken, and you cannot focus on your usual life until you know the results.
If you are experiencing even a few of these symptoms, this is not something to take lightly.
2. What To Do About Your Anxiety. What do you do if you do spot yourself in some of the above points?
  • first, talk to a friend. Ask them if they have noticed you becoming overly concerned with having different diseases. If they have, then there could be an issue at hand.
  • next, consider consulting a psychological counselor. Talk to someone trained in dealing with this type of problem. You may need professional help to get past it.
  • finally, practice stress controlling tactics. Stress-busting techniques often work for combating anxiety too, so the two can go hand in hand. The selection of methods to relieve pressure is somewhat personal.
Common health concerns when you are genuinely ill is nothing to stress over as there is a built-in level of stress when recovering from an illness. It is when you become consumed with negative thoughts about your health you could find you have a significant problem.
Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.
For nearly 25 years Beverleigh Piepers has searched for and found a number of secrets to help you build a healthy body. Go to http://DrugFreeType2Diabetes.com to learn about some of those secrets.
The answer isn't in the endless volumes of available information but in yourself.

Combatting Anxiety With 4-7-8 Breathing Pattern

By

Individuals suffering from anxiety are on a continuous lookout for techniques that can help them combat the mental disorder and relax their minds. One such technique doing the rounds these days is the 4-7-8 breathing pattern.
Also known as the "relaxing breath", the 4-7-8 breathing technique involves breathing in for 4 seconds, holding the breath for 7 seconds, and exhaling for 8 seconds. According to some proponents, this breathing technique helps in reducing anxiety and even helps people fall sleep within a minute. Even though there is little scientific evidence to support this breathing technique, a lot of people are turning to it for instant relief from anxiety symptoms and a more relaxed sleep.
Understanding the 4-7-8 breathing technique
The 4-7-8 breathing technique is followed as a core exercise by several alternative healing therapies such as yoga and meditation, as it helps promote relaxation. This breathing technique needs an individual to focus on taking a long deep breath at the time of inhalation. Supporters of this technique feel that it can help achieve the following:
  • Better sleep
  • Management of various types of yearnings and cravings
  • Reduced or controlled anger responses
  • Improved and gradually reduced anxiety symptoms
How to practice the 4-7-8 breathing technique?
Prior to starting this breathing pattern, it is suggested that an individual gets into a relaxed sitting or lying down position. They should then touch the roof of their mouth, just behind the front teeth with the tip of their tongue. Once settled, the individual should follow the below mentioned steps.
  • Exhale the air out of the lungs so as to empty the lungs completely
  • Inhale for a count of four seconds
  • Hold the breath for a count of seven seconds
  • Exhale forcefully via the mouth for a count of eight seconds. While exhaling, the individual should make a "o" of their lips and make a "whoosh" sound.
An individual must follow this breathing technique twice a day to start noticing the benefits at the earliest. However, first-timers must refrain from exceeding four breath cycles at a stretch. Once the practitioner is comfortable with the technique, they can practice it for longer durations.
For the first couple of times, an individual may feel light-headed after practicing this breathing technique. Thus it is advised to try this technique while lying or sitting down to avert falls or dizziness. It is far more important to maintain the ratio instead of focusing on the number of seconds the breathing pattern lasts for. If an individual struggles to hold their breath for a long time, they can opt for a breathing pattern of shorter duration, which would be:
  • Inhaling for a count of 2 seconds
  • Holding the breath for a period of 3.5 seconds
  • Exhaling forcefully for 4 seconds
If an individual is successful in maintaining the appropriate ratio, they will start noticing the benefits within a couple of weeks of following this technique consistently, once or twice a day. They would notice a lower frequency in the occurrence of their anxiety symptoms and a more restful sleep.
Seeking help for anxiety disorder
Anxiety is a part and parcel of life, and feeling anxious in situations that are challenging and stressful is quite normal. However, when anxiety persists and worsens with time, it becomes a disorder. Anxiety afflicts nearly 40 million American adults and is one of the most common mental health concerns in the U.S.

What's Wrong With Me?

By

Disabling anxiety and depression
How often do you ask your self out loud or quietly to your self 'What's wrong with me?
When we look beneath the surface of anxiety and depression, we will find what drives them. What if the belief we carry along the lines of There must be something wrong and the not good enough syndrome are the roots of anxiety and depression? What would happen if we disabled those roots?
What's worng with me?
How many times have you asked yourself, quietly or out loud What's wrong with me? Have other people ever said to you, What's wrong with you?, after you have failed to do something or live up to their expectations? How often have you uttered to your self What did I do wrong, or where did I go wrong?
What you believe you will see
The source of these questions come from the beliefs you hold about your self, There must be something wrong with me, or I must have done something wrong. The question is how long have these been running your life? These beliefs could come from some event, or something said to you a long time ago. They don't necessarily have to stem from a traumatic event (although they could). They could simply derive from something which today seems insignificant, but at the time could have made you question your self enough to create an element of doubt. If not nipped in the bud this doubt will grow into a belief, there must be something wrong with me. This may not be true but in time those beliefs will become true for you. Once the beliefs take root they have the ability to run your life and at times disable you.
We can end up going around and around in circles as we can't find the confidence to make a decision, or make a choice between this or that, because we are afraid of being wrong or being wronged. Either we are afraid of making a decision based on the unknown, or we are afraid of making the same mistake, based on past decisions that didn't work out. And often when we attempt to or even if we do take action, we end up seeing our worst fears of being wrong or wronged coming true, either in our mind or in reality. Either way they cause havoc. How can they not when your energy is running on such low quality beliefs that make you wrong or wronged, no matter what you do or don't do.
The clues are in your Self Talk
You may or not be aware of those beliefs on a conscious level but your self-talk will tell you a lot if you listen. The symptoms of what we call anxiety can be different for each person: They can range from confusion, non-comprehension, nervousness, irritability, anger, sadness, crying. You might feel sensations in the body, usually in the abdomen as nervousness, and at times to the extent of feeling sick. When we are unable to control these feelings, panic attacks can follow.
Often the disappointment of 'failing' to do what you want to do again leads you back to the question What's wrong with me?, and this alone can lead us onto a downward slide into depression. We often try many ways to escape those painful feelings and thoughts;. We can try to run away, smother them with food, drink, drugs, exercise and any thing else we can think of to ease the pain. The more we depress or suppress these emotions the further we will slide into depressed state of mind, where we can't feel anything - we call this depression.
The Diagnosis and the label
The doctors will confirm that there is something wrong with us. The diagnosis and label alone can create more fear and can confirm and anchor the belief that There is something wrong with me. Or, putting a name to the way we feel can finally bring some relief. It is a starting point as we go through the process of finding the right medication for that something wrong with us. And that's perfect.
However, here's the challenge. What if we applied a mental mental process of pulling those beliefs of There must be something wrong with me out by the roots? What would happen to the illness? What comes first the belief or the illness? Mmmmm something to think about!
What's wrong with me, walks hand in hand with the belief I'm not good enough. Think about it! When we don't feel good enough or we don't measure up, make the cut, or we are rejected, don't we ask that same old question What's wrong with me? Am I not tall enough, short enough, intelligent enough, fast enough, pretty enough? - and on and on.
The Not Good Enough Syndrome
This stems from the idea that we are not enough (as we are) and therefore we have to keep adding things to our lives and lifestyle to make us feel better about our self. The need to prove to our self and others we are good enough becomes all important. We add degrees, relationships, money, material possessions, awards, trophies to feel good enough. Being an owner of something makes us feel better.
And all of this is perfect unless they become the substance or our feeling good enough. The question is: What happens if you lose all of this, will you still feel good enough? If you have a belief running of I'm not enough then that belief will remain true for you unless you change it. No matter what you achieve on the outside, chances are you will never feel enough, and nothing will ever be enough for you. The clue here for me was my constant querying 'What more do I have to do? This Not Good Enough Syndrome leads to symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, addictions, and other self inflicted illnesses.
Treating the Roots
Once again instead of treating the symptoms we need to stop feeding the roots of not enough and feed those Good and Godly enough roots so we can feast on the fruits of wellness.
What you focus on grows
Instead of looking for what is wrong with us, we look to find all that's right. This means focusing on all the inner natural good and Godliness that makes up our wholesome self. This aspect of our self is real and what is real never changes and is always present. However this can be suppressed by those man-made beliefs we hold about our self and God (or whatever name you want to give that invisible spiritual energy that makes up our holistic and wholesome self).
Balancing the Mind-Body with Spirit
What if the imbalance we find with depression and anxiety stems from the denial of spirit from the mind-body-spirit system. Doesn't this show us that illness is not the presence of something but the absence of something? As we leave spirit out of the equation for wellness, we disable our self. If we don't include Faith in our recovery program we will be doing our self an injustice. When we recover the inner spiritual aspect of Faith, we stand to recover wellness on all levels. When we talk about Faith remember it doesn't belong to any one religion or philosophy. Faith belongs to everyone as a natural aspect of your holistic mind, body and spirit system. For me, Faith is our highest sense of Self and Self Belief.
Raising Real Self Belief
When you reconnect with Faith, we are able to operate from the heart and soul of our real sense of self. Our role in life then becomes one of expressing one-self in away that is unique and right for each and every one of us. If then, by any chance we lose our accumulated possessions, job or relationship, me may experience an array of emotions, but the foundations of who we are is enough to sustain us. WE may lose our balance and sway, we won't fall and crumble.
Often the idea of spirit or faith being a natural solution for our holistic healing is enough to turn people away. The fearful resistance stems from the names we use, the meanings we give it, and the beliefs we hold on to. And for non-religious people the word God alone can send them heading into a state of anxiety.
I can vouch for the fact that trying to find the right name and the right way to understand and accept this invisible life-force, challenged me to the hilt. I have explored spirituality and Christianity (oh what a journey!) and it was in giving up seeking that I found what I was looking for right here, right under my nose, right inside - My good enough and my Godly enough truest sense of Self and real Self Belief.
Find a way that is right for you
I discovered that there is no right or wrong way to recover and apply this precious solution, only a way that is right for you. It's of no matter what name people use, because it is of no matter. All that really matters is that we do call upon this inner sense of Self and Self Healing, and allow it to be the driver behind disabling anxiety and depression and other fear driven illnesses.

Suicide: Second Leading Cause of Death in 15- to 29-Year-Olds

Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola

September 26, 2019

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15- to 29-year-olds, second only to road injuries. Every year, nearly 800,000 people die by suicide, mostly in low- and middle-income countries, where self-poisoning with pesticides is common. Suicide is also on the rise in high-income countries.  read more>>>  https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2019/09/26/suicide-second-leading-cause-death-among-15-29.aspx?utm_source=dnl&utm_medium=email&utm_content=art2HL&utm_campaign=20190926Z1&et_cid=DM353569&et_rid=716057397

Flu Shot Fails to Protect Seniors and May Increase Miscarriages

What's the Best Way to Use a Standing Desk?

Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola

September 27, 2019

The standing desk trend may have been driven by hopes it would help you burn more energy, but research finds the increase is negligible. Additionally, prolonged stationary standing may be as challenging as sitting. Sit-to-stand desks offer more benefits as they promote greater movement throughout the day, thus supporting health and wellness.  read more>>> https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2019/09/27/best-way-to-use-standing-desk.aspx?utm_source=dnl&utm_medium=email&utm_content=art2HL&utm_campaign=20190927Z1&et_cid=DM353603&et_rid=716734958

Vaccine Exemptions Under Attack in 2019

September 27, 2019

 Story at-a-glance

  • In 2010, the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) launched the NVIC Advocacy Portal, a free online vaccine choice advocacy network, for the purpose of securing and defending informed consent protections in vaccine policies and laws
  • During the 2019 legislative session, 22 bills across 17 states were filed to attempt to eliminate vaccine exemptions. Three bills passed, 12 died and seven are still pending in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin
  • While media hyped bills attacking exemptions, there were almost as many bills to expand informed consent rights as there were to eliminate or restrict those rights. This can be directly credited to positive action taken by forward-thinking state legislators given fact-based information about vaccines, exemptions and diseases by concerned citizens who took the time to make one-on-one personal contact with their elected representatives
  • Of the 137 vaccine-related bills NVIC opposed, only 18 bad bills passed
  • It is critical that vaccine choice advocates in every state register for and check in to the NVIC Advocacy Portal. The most important thing you can do is to establish relationships with and educate your legislators now and into next year so you can be ready to counter bills that will restrict or eliminate exemptions and get good bills filed to protect and expand vaccine exemptions  read more>>>https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2019/09/27/vaccine-exemption-laws-are-under-close-scrutiny.aspx?utm_source=dnl&utm_medium=email&utm_content=art1HL&utm_campaign=20190927Z1&et_cid=DM353603&et_rid=716734958

The Dating Game: The Ins and Outs of Expiration Dating for Natural Products

Tuesday, 16 July 2019 23:05 By Kristen Schepker, Assistant Editor   Dating Game

Expiration dates, "use by" guidelines, or "manufactured on" notices are printed on the labels of nearly all consumable products nowadays. When it comes to dietary supplements, who determines those dates––and what do they really mean?
What's In A Date?
"Typically, the responsible party is the one listed as the manufacturer or distributor on the label of the dietary supplement product," said Andrew Shao, Interim Senior Vice President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at the Council for Responsible Nutrition. Manufacturers use stability studies––a series of experiments exposing a product to a range of different storage conditions––to inform their expiration date calculations.

Stability testing enables researchers to examine products when stored under ideal conditions––in the dark, at room temperature and low humidity, generally––as well as more extreme circumstances, like those that might occur during shipping and transport. Shao noted that supplement makers often use a combination of "accelerated" methods--where products are exposed to extreme conditions for a short period of time--and "real time" studies, in which the products are exposed to more normal conditions. In both cases, analytical chemists track any changes in quality that occur over a designated period.

Quality Assurance for Hemp CBD: Key Questions to Ask

Tuesday, 27 August 2019 20:03      Hemp CBDBy Erik Goldman, Editor in Chief

Quality assurance is a challenge for all herbal companies. An increasingly globalized supply chain, economically-motivated adulteration, environmental contaminants, and limitations of analytical methods are just a few key issues that quality control managers must face.
For companies making hemp extracts, the challenges are compounded by a confusing regulatory landscape, the inherent complexity of the plant, the surging consumer demand for CBD, and the entrance of dozens of upstart brands with no prior herbal experience and little understanding of basic QA methods.
Responsible and ethical brands struggle to differentiate themselves amid a sea of competitors.

Product quality begins with total control of the company’s raw materials  read more>>> https://holisticprimarycare.net/topics/topics-h-n/herbal-medicine/2072-quality-assurance-for-hemp-cbd-key-questions-to-ask.html

Choice, Chance, and Signs of Gratitude

By                                   Expert Author Liah Howard

"Start each day with a grateful heart" is printed on a wooden sign that was given to me by a friend. I have that inspiring message hanging on the wall opposite my bed. I am reminded first thing in the morning to be grateful. Such a simple instruction yet sometimes, very hard to do. My mind is quick to fill with duties of the day and sometimes a reluctance to leave the warmth of my cozy bed. Yet, if I can shift my attention from activity and instead tap into an inner gratitude for the mere fact that I am alive, then each breath becomes a sacred gift. Earlier this year, I had a close brush with death and can say first hand that I no longer take for granted the blessing of being alive.
Perhaps the universe needed to startle me back into an attitude of gratitude. The time was 7:15 pm on Sept 23rd when death brushed by me. I was walking across the road with friends in a crosswalk by the beach after a birthday celebration for my friend Shaun. I was the last one in the group when I suddenly heard a shout from across the street. "Liah! Look out!" Then suddenly as if instinctually, my friend Patricia who was walking in front of me, grabbed my arm and pulled me forward out of the path of a speeding red car. I was wearing a black dress on that dark night and the driver did not see me at all. The car hit the back of my dress and left an indelible memory in my mind of the shiny red hood that almost robbed me of my life.
The driver was shaken up and pulled over on the side of the road, apparently, he heard the shouts of my friends as they screamed when he passed. I was hyperventilating and my body shook from the intensity of the situation. I couldn't speak or process. I was overwhelmed with shock and fear. I couldn't believe the magnitude of what had just happened. Had my friend Shaun not called out, and Patricia not grabbed me, I would have been hit by that car and gone hurling through space and my body would have then been on the way to the hospital or dead on impact.
I share this because too often we forget that the little things that are bothering us can take away our serenity and leave us feeling empty, frustrated and meaningless rather than grateful, alive and purposeful. If that had been my last day of life would I have felt complete and at peace with everyone and everything in my life? I questioned, did I leave things undone, unfinished or not manifested? Did I settle for less than I was meant to be, do or have? Was I kind and compassionate with others or was I self-centered and ego driven?
I feel like I have been given another opportunity at life. I have a chance to rewrite who I am and what I am here for. I have the liberty to love deeply, care positively and to make a difference in the lives of everybody I know. Since we never know when the angel of death will come to get us, we must live as though we only have today. No more wasting precious time in resentment, fear, self-pity and judgement. Instead I chose to live in gratitude, peace and harmony-these are my goals. I am here to let those I love know that I love them and to show up for what life brings, even if it is not quite what I ordered.
Perhaps I would add to my wall sign, start and end each day with a grateful heart.
